Our Lead Tutor

Mathematics & Physics — 25+ Years of Teaching

Our lead tutor for Mathematical Methods, Specialist Mathematics, and Physics brings over 25 years of classroom teaching experience to every session. He has taught in South Australia for more than 7 years and has served as a SACE moderator — meaning he has sat on the other side of the marking table and knows precisely what examiners reward.

Before coming to South Australia, he taught internationally and mentored 4 students to International Physics Olympiad medals — one of the most demanding and prestigious academic competitions in the world. The Olympiad requires creative problem-solving, deep conceptual understanding, and the ability to apply physics in genuinely novel contexts. That level of teaching depth is what Adelaide Tutors students benefit from in every session.

His approach is built on a conviction that genuine understanding is always more valuable than memorisation. Students who understand the 'why' behind every formula and concept are not just better prepared for SACE — they are better prepared for university and beyond.

Our Teaching Philosophy

At Adelaide Tutors, we do not teach to the test. We teach the subject — deeply, carefully, and with an eye on where each concept leads. The test results follow naturally when students genuinely understand the material.

Small groups are central to this philosophy. With a maximum of 6 students per class, every student gets direct interaction with the tutor in every session. Questions are not just tolerated — they are expected and welcomed. The weekly doubt clearance session ensures that no confusion carries over from one week to the next.

We keep enrolments limited deliberately. We would rather teach a small number of students exceptionally well than a large number adequately. This is reflected in our results.

Where We Teach

All classes are currently held at our Camden Park location, conveniently situated on Anzac Highway. The location is easily accessible from the western and southern suburbs of Adelaide.
